Xi'an Polytechnic University is a high-level university built jointly by the central and local governments. It is a national plan for the revitalization of higher education in the western and central regions of China. It is also an Institute for the implementation of basic capacity-building projects in Universities in the central and western regions of China. It is a "first-class University in China" in Shaanxi Province.

The school has three campuses, Jinhua, Qujiang and Lianhu, and one university science and technology park. There are more than 18,000 full-time undergraduates and nearly 7,000 doctoral and master students. There are more than 2500 faculty members, including more than 800 senior titles.

There are currently 16 colleges and a teaching department with 67 undergraduate majors, 10 of which are national characteristic specialty construction sites, 11 of which have been certified (evaluated) by engineering education specialty, 21 of which have been selected as the first-class specialty in Shaanxi Province, 16 of which are characteristic specialty construction sites in Shaanxi Province, and 8 of which are famous brand specialties in Shaanxi Province.

It was known as Shaanxi Institute of Mechanical Engineering before 1994, which was established by combining Beijing Institute of Mechanical Engineering and Shaanxi Polytechnic University in 1972. Today, universities commit themselves to three obligations to society: to cultivate intellectuals, to research and to serve society. Xi'an University of Technology consistently emphasizes closely combining its development with the national economy development and social needs, and manages its teaching goals: standard management and high education quality are its strong features. With a broad overview of today and the future, our university has cultivated thousands of intellectuals with solid theoretical knowledge, excellent practical skills and great enterprise who are playing active roles in their fields both at home and abroad. Xi'an University of Technology is comprised of 3 campuses: Jinhua, Qujiang and Lianhu Campus, with the total area of 100 ha. GENERAL INFORMATION

Xi'an University of Technology (XUT) is a comprehensive public university featuring mainly in science and technology, which is jointly constructed by the Shaan'xi provincial and central government.

Our university was founded in 1949, and has a history of 64 years so far.

It was known as Shaanxi Institute of Mechanical Engineering before January 1994, which was established by combining Beijing Institute of Mechanical Engineering and Shaanxi Polytechnic University in 1972.

XUT has always been sticking to the guideline of meeting the needs of the state's economic construction and social development.

As well as abiding by the tenet of Humanity-oriented Education and Unity of the Knowing and Doing, making strict management and excellent cultivation quality our prime priority.

Over the years we have cultivated thousands of intellectuals with creative spirits, sophisticated theoretical knowledge, excellent practical skills who are playing an active role in their own fields both at home and abroad.
