| 秦皇岛市 中国港口旅游城市。位于河北省东北部。南濒渤海，海岸线长124.4千米。东与辽宁省接壤，西与唐山市为界，北隔燕山山脉与承德地区相邻。面积7523平方千米（其中市区363平方千米），1992年人口252.21万(其中市区50.06万)。汉族为主，有回、满、蒙古、朝鲜等少数民族。“秦皇岛”因秦始皇东巡至此，入海求仙而得名。秦属辽西郡。汉置卢龙郡，隋置北平郡。明洪武十四年（1381）建山海关。清置山海卫。后置临榆县，属永平府。1948年设秦榆市。1949年分设山海关市和秦皇岛市。1953年合并，属河北省。1983年开始辖县。属暖温带大陆性季风气候，年均降水量699毫米，年均温10.1℃。产玉米、高粱、小麦、谷子、水稻等。苹果、渔产较丰。特产对虾、水蜜桃及元帅、红星、金冠苹果。 工业主要有建材、机械、纺织、食品等。尤以玻璃工业最为著名，耀华玻璃厂的平板玻璃产量居全国首位。山海关桥梁厂是全国六大桥梁厂之一。市处华北与东北联系的要冲，是河北省重要的交通枢纽。京沈、京秦铁路横贯境内。山海关站为重要中转站。中国第一条重载电气化铁路大秦铁路直达秦皇岛市，承担煤炭运输任务。秦皇岛港是天然良港，全国最大煤炭输出港。为全国十大港口之一。公路以秦津、京沈、秦山、秦海为主干，四通八达。秦皇岛气候宜人，为全国著名旅游避暑胜地。山海关是全国历史文化名城，有万里长城、天下第一关、孟姜女庙、老龙头、威远城等古迹。北戴河海滨风景区为著名避暑疗养胜地。 |
